Every family has a story! Ex Fabula and Wisconsin Black Historical Society invite you to explore your Family History at a storytelling workshop on March 2nd from 10am-noon at WBHSM, 2620 W Center St. Free but space is limited.
Ex Fabula storytelling coach Rochelle Fritsch will guide you through a series of interactive activities to discover, structure and share your own Family History stories. Working in small groups, you’ll learn effective storytelling skills, connect with other community members, and let your voice be heard.
Not sure if you have a story? The theme of “Family History” is a broad one that can include stories about family names, inherited physical or personality traits, genealogical research, family heirlooms, DNA Ancestry testing, and even the stories you’ve heard from relatives. Don’t know much about your biological family or ancestors? You can also share the story of how you were disconnected from your family history, or even how you’ve created your chosen family.
After the workshop, you’ll learn about opportunities to share your story at the Family History StorySlam on Saturday April 13 at WBHSM.
